THE ORGANIZATION

Smart Serve Ontario is a responsible alcohol beverage service and sales training program. Recognized by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Smart Serve Ontario is dedicated to developing and delivering training to all individuals who sell, serve, or handle alcohol in the Province.

THE MANDATE

Smart Serve Ontario is currently seeking to fill Board vacancies. Smart Serve Ontario Board typically elects Director’s representative of key industry sectors to which they provide service, or that fulfill a specific functional requirement or area of expertise on the Board. The Board also seeks diversity and encourages applications from a broad range of eligible candidates who live and work in the province of Ontario. Suitable candidates will be experienced business leaders with preference given to those with:

• 7-10 years experience in an executive level position
• Strong understanding of alcohol licensing requirements
• Previous Board experience

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Smart Serve Ontario Board is responsible for the stewardship, including oversight of the organization and taking a leadership role in the development of its strategic direction. The Board is a volunteer board and approved expenses will be covered to attend Board meetings and events. We are looking for visionary leaders from acrossOntario who desire to be part of a progressive, results oriented and fiscally responsible organization. Commitment to the Board includes approximately 6-8 board meetings annually, 1- 2 days duration across different location throughout Ontario.
