In response to the overwhelming demand for last-minute recertifications, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is pleased to announce an extension of the recertification window to 60 days, with the deadline now set for August 31st, 2023, at 11:59PM. This decision aims to accommodate the mass volumes of recertifications and ensure a smooth process for all certificate holders.
We understand the importance of maintaining an up-to-date certification, and we strongly encourage all certificate holders to seize this opportunity and recertify their credentials promptly. To further ease the process, Smart Serve will be honouring the recertification fee of $29.95 for previous certificate holders.
Rest assured that your expired certificate will remain valid until August 31st, 2023. This extension allows ample time for all certificate holders to complete their recertification requirements and stay compliant with AGCO regulations.

Recertification Background:
The AGCO first announced a new five-year term for all new and existing Smart Serve liquor training certifications on November 9, 2021. Certificate-holders were initially invited to recertify starting July 1, 2022, with no certificates expiring until at least July 1, 2023.
