Recertification 5-Year Requirement

Recertification Deadline Extended to August 31st, 2023, 11:59PM

Responding to the high demand for last-minute recertifications, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) announces a 60-day extension for final recertifications, now concluding on August 31st, 2023. We encourage certificate holders to take advantage of this opportunity and promptly recertify, with Smart Serve honouring the $29.95 fee for previous holders. We appreciate your patience during this period. Expired certificates will remain valid until August 31st, 2023, 11:59PM.

On November 9, 2021, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) announced they are introducing a new 5-year Smart Serve recertification requirement, effective July 1, 2022.

Anyone certified on or after July 1, 2018, will have 5-years, from the date of issue, to recertify.

It will be the certificate holder’s responsibility to recertify BEFORE their certificate expires. All valid Smart Serve certificate holders can recertify for a discounted price of $29.95 if you do so prior to your certificate expiring.

  • Step 2: Purchase and complete the online training
  • Step 3: Take the proctored Final Test (mobile friendly)
  • Step 4: Download, save or print your eCertificate
