Doubling Your Impact

Smart Serve Ontario is offering this free online module, for a limited time1, to help address awareness and prevention of sexual violence.

We are asking all participants to donate to the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres (OCRCC) and Smart Serve Ontario will match 100% of donations up to a total maximum of $10,000.

Every $1 raised will help support sexual assault centres across Ontario provide counselling, information, and support services for survivors of sexual violence. Open the dialogue and get tips to keep guests safe.

This introductory module will take about 20-30 minutes to complete and provides tips for identifying and handling two types of sexual violence situations.

This module is already included in the Smart Serve Training Program for those completing the certification course.

The OCRCC works to end sexual violence by taking political action, policy analysis and providing support services for survivors. The OCRCC is a network of 31 sexual assault centres across Ontario. Sexual violence is more than rape and the ‘Draw-The-Line’ campaign is interactive and designed to challenge common myths about sexual violence and equip bystanders with information on how to intervene safely and effectively.

3. Check your email for details on how you can donate and have it doubled!

About Smart Serve – Sexual Violence Module

Smart Serve provides grants and bursaries to educational institutions and supports associations and non-profits in their efforts of promoting responsible service and consumption of alcohol for a safer and healthier Ontario.

The Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019 (LLCA) outlines responsibilities licensees and employees must take to protect guests from dangers. This includes knowing how to identify acts of sexual violence that may take place in an establishment and steps to take if these dangerous situations are identified. This module acts as an introduction and can provide additional support and resources. Learn more about Smart Serve initiatives.

  • The Module: Sexual Violence will be available for free (no-cost) for a limited time and is subject to change at any time, without notice.
  • A matched donation applies to all one-time donation amounts made between January 1 – June 30, 2022, or until the maximum $10,000 Smart Serve Ontario donation amount is reached. Donations must be made directly to: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/67588
  • Registration is required to access all online courses. You must create an Individual Account by registering on smartserve.ca. If you already have an online account, you can login to access this separate course from the “Store” tab. This course is available in six (6) different languages.
  • No proctored testing will be required to complete this separate course/module.
  • No certificate of completion will be issued.
  • Current Smart Serve certificate holders will not be issued a new certificate number and launching this separate course will not affect current certificate status.
  • This module is already included in the Smart Serve online training course curriculum and participation is voluntary.
